I have to start by saying I hate to answer the question "who's your favorite emcee?". Its always hard to find a straight answer. I end up running off 5 or 6 names, then I think for bit...then rattle off 7 more. Over a lifetime of listening to Hip Hop I've had so many different fav emcees its hard to pick one. When I was 8 it was Slick Rick, then 12 it was Rakim, 14 Q-Tip & CL Smooth, 16 Red Hot Lover Tone and the list goes on.
Now, the grown ass man adult version of Wil has to say it's Phonte Coleman.
Since day one back in '03 when my cousin sat me down and played "The Listening" to just last week riding the F Train bumping "Charity Starts At Home", Phonte makes me laugh, think and nod my head all at the same time. So on this day 11-1-11 and this Episode 38 Hour 2 Phonte holds the #1 spot....but we also gotta throw an index finger up for Ghostface starting us off right. One.
