Episode 60 (Hour 1) Best of Nine Trey (’93)

• December 6th, 2013

Peace world and welcome to the latest edition of the podcast that plays the neck crackin'est Old School Hip Hop, Remixes, B-Sides, Rarities and Underground gems, Nitty Gritty Radio. I'm your selector Wil Infamous and we are here at a monumental episode....THE BIG 6 OH!

Here for the 60th and last episode of 2013 I wanted to pay homage to the 20th anniversary for agrueably the greatest year in the Golden Era of Hip Hop...1993.

'93 was a special year for me personally, I was starting my junior year in high school, just got my drivers licenses along with my first car (a rusty '84 Mercury Cougar) and was just starting to realize how much Hip Hop music played as a big influence in my life. So I wanted to make a playlist full of bangers from the year 1993 to show my gratitude to all the great releases for this banner year in Hip Hop history. I know there are a few artist and groups that were left off due to time restrictions ( already super-sized it by 1/2 hour) like

Naughty By Nature, Ice Cube, Cypress Hill, Freestyle Fellowship, YZ, Funkdoobiest, Fat Joe, Trends Of Culture, Digable Planets, etc....all DOPE albums from '93 but couldn't fit them in the mix. So when you listen take that into consideration and marinate on just how amazing 1993 was for the music and the culture of Hip Hop.

Feel the vibe and enjoy the Episode 60 (Hour 1) Best of Nine Trey playlist.

Peace fellow Hip Hop heads! Wil Infamous here with a very special "end of an era" type episode. Since October of 2003 every time I would DJ and then in '09 when I started Nitty Gritty Radio I've been getting my inspiration from living and breathing in New York City and its surrounding areas. Episode 59 marks the end of that era. The fam is moving on to greener pastures and relocating to the state of PA to start a new chapter. Episode 59 (Hour 2)

• October 8th, 2013

Chronological adjective
1(of a record of events) starting with the earliest and following the order in which they occurred.
  1. Episode 59 (Hour 2) is 100% in chronological order to show the Underground Hip Hop sound evolution from 1997 to 2013. Each year on this playlist is represtented by one track (with the exception of '98 and '13). I try keep every episode/ every hour on this podcast in some kind of chronological order because that's the way my brain works when dealing with music. But this is the first playlist that has a track for every year going 16 back to create a complete vibe that'll keep your head nodding from start to finish.
Press play and set the DeLorean dial to the 1997 "MiLiGHT" album from DJ Krush and enjoy the timeline.

Shin-Sekai (with Rino) - DJ Krush ['97]

The Visualz - Siah & Yeshua DapoED ['98]
